Scale a GIF by percentage
Percent mode multiplies both sides by the same factor, so the proportions never change. Use the slider for anything from 5% to 400%, type up to 1000% in the box, or tap a shortcut: 25%, 50%, 75%, 150%, 200% or 400%. The exact output size in pixels is shown under the controls before you resize.
Scaling changes the area of every frame by the square of the factor — at 50% each frame has a quarter of the pixels, at 200% it has four times as many — and the file size follows roughly the same curve.
Scale up pixel-art GIFs without blur
Regular resampling blends neighboring pixels, which turns sharp pixel art into a soft, smeared mess. Pixel art mode uses nearest-neighbor scaling instead: each source pixel is repeated, never blended. At whole-number factors the result is a perfect enlargement, and because no new colors are created, the file stays small.

Scale down for smaller, faster GIFs
Scaling a GIF down is the most effective way to cut its file size. Smooth resampling averages every source pixel into the smaller frame, so fine detail stays stable from frame to frame instead of shimmering — a common problem when a scaler simply skips rows and columns.

How do I scale a GIF to 50%?
Load the GIF, stay on Percent (it starts at 50%) and press Resize GIF. Width and height are both halved, so the aspect ratio stays the same and each frame has a quarter of the pixels.
How do I scale up a pixel-art GIF without blur?
Set the scale to a whole number such as 200%, 300% or 400%, open Quality, colors & loop and choose Pixel art. Every source pixel becomes a clean 2×2, 3×3 or 4×4 block with the original colors — no smoothing, no new colors.
Can I scale a GIF beyond 400%?
Yes — type any value up to 1000% in the percent box, as long as the result stays within 4096 px on each side. Large upscales of long GIFs need a lot of memory, so the resizer will tell you if a size is too big for your device.
Does scaling change the GIF’s aspect ratio?
No. Percent scaling applies the same factor to width and height. To change the shape, switch to Pixels, unlock the aspect ratio and choose Stretch, Fit or Fill.
What is the difference between Smooth, Soft and Pixel art?
Smooth (Lanczos) gives the sharpest result for video clips and photos. Soft (bilinear) is a little blurrier and can compress slightly better. Pixel art (nearest neighbor) copies pixels without blending — ideal for pixel art, screenshots and flat graphics, especially at 2× or 4×.
